The Diploma in Illustration design with 2D Animation is designed to provide you with strategies and skills to successfully manage a range of visual and communication challenges.
These integrated platforms aim to develop your creative mind, allowing you to express your ideas, sharpen your acumen, in visual dialogues, and help you articulate them into creative outcomes.
YEAR ONE
Develop an understanding of visual communication, informed by design principles and cultural ideas.
Develop skills in typography, printing, layout, design research, idea generation, visual narrative and storytelling.
Learn technical skills in various design-related digital media such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Define, identify and illustrate design concepts and terminology as a foundation for motion graphics.
Explore analogue and digital illustration marketing.
YEAR TWO
Learn what it takes to develop a story for your character. We will break down the importance of why you should even be creating your character in the first place.
Design for production, students will learn how to concept artist fits into production pipeline. Subjects include: developing design themes, thumbnails, fantastical subjects, rendering, lighting, and presentation.
Introducing and process of matte printing with combining photography, you will create skyscapes, landscapes, and cityscapes, and seascapes and other design possibilities and lighting scenarios.
Identify research and practice subject matter and illustration specialism for final year study. Create a professional portfolio of work.
